After the great success of plastprintpack West Africa 2022, the 2023 edition is now coming up as plastprintpack Ghana to take place from 21 to 23 November 2023 at the Trade Center Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This important business platform for the Ghanaian plastprintpack industry is organised by fairtrade in cooperation with their local partner Geovision.
The rebranding from plastprintpack West Africa to plastprintpack Ghana reflects the growing importance of the Ghanaian market since the inaugural event in Ghana in 2013.
In addition to Ghana, fairtrade in West Africa serves Nigeria with the plastprintpack Nigeria.
And francophone West Africa will finally meet again in 2023 in Abidjan, at plastprintpack West Africa.

1,384 Ghanaian and West African professionals from the plastprintpack & agrofood industry discussed their business with 98 exhibitors from 22 countries.
The 7th edition of plastprintpack & agrofood West Africa 2022 had exhibitors participating from Belgium, Burkina Faso, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Ivory Coast, Morocco, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates and USA.
The event took place from 29 November to 01 December 2022 at the state-of-the-art Trade Center Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The exhibition was again supplemented by a 3-day program full of presentations and conferences.

The Ghanaian and West African plastprintpack market
Plastics technology: West African imports of plastics technology more than doubled over the past few years, from €144 million in 2016 to €311 million in 2021, an average growth of 16.6% annually. Major West African import markets of plastics technology - apart from Nigeria – are Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Togo, Guinea and Mali, in this order. (VDMA)
Printing and paper technology: Such technology was imported at a value of €95 million in 2020, €109 million in 2019 and €107 million in 2018 (VDMA), with Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal as main importers - apart from Nigeria.
Packaging technology: West Africa’s imports amounted to €312m in 2021, up 5.2 annually from €230m in 2015 - steady growth even in the Corona year 2020 and 2021. Ghana's investments in packaging technology even increased by 22% annually, from €29 million in 2017 to €64 million in 2021. Major West African importers – apart from Nigeria – are Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso. (VDMA)
